Integrative & Transpersonal Therapist
I see being a therapist as an immense privilege. I have the opportunity to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges, deepen their self-understanding, and move towards a more fulfilling way of being.
My approach is grounded in warmth, compassion and curiosity. I believe therapy works best when we can create a space where you feel genuinely heard and accepted, while also having the opportunity to gently explore patterns, beliefs and experiences that may be holding you back. I see each person as an individual and tailor our work to your circumstances, needs and goals.
My own life experiences also inform my practice. In particular, my personal experience of wanting to start a family and navigating IVF has given me a deeper understanding of the uncertainty, hope, loss, and emotional complexity that can accompany the journey towards parenthood. While everyone’s experience is different, I bring this personal understanding alongside my professional training and experience when supporting clients through similar challenges.
Therapy is a shared journey, and my role is to support and accompany you through that process with care, honesty, and respect. If you feel that working together could be helpful, I would welcome the opportunity to explore that with you.
Testimonials
Testimonial from Will, male, aged 31:
"Having been with Simon for almost 2 years, he provided me with a space to share aspects of myself that I've denied and resisted. His approach allowed me to feel accepted no matter what I said, and I felt a great sense of trust that he would handle my words with care. Our work has given me a strong sense that therapy can help to weather the ups and downs of life. Thanks Simon."

Therapy isn't only for times of crisis. It can also be a space to reflect on your past, make sense of your present, and shape the future you want. It offers an opportunity to deepen your self-understanding, unlock your potential for growth, and live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
I don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. Instead, I work intuitively, tailoring our sessions to your individual needs, personality, and way of experiencing the world. While talking therapy forms the foundation of my work, I also draw on a range of creative and experiential approaches where they feel appropriate. For example, we might explore your dreams if they hold meaning for you, use sand tray work to connect with different parts of yourself, engage in guided creative imagination ("waking dreams") to explore the unconscious, or draw on art, music, poetry, or spiritual texts if these resonate with your experience.
Although our work will always be guided by your needs, goals, and pace, there may be times when I take a more active or directive role. If I believe a particular intervention or perspective could be helpful, I'll offer it collaboratively, always with your consent and in service of your therapeutic journey.
My integrative and transpersonal approach allows me to tailor therapy to your individual needs, recognising that each person's experiences, circumstances, and goals are unique. I offer both longer-term and short-term therapy, depending on what feels most appropriate for you.
I aim to create a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at your own pace.
My style is compassionate yet gently challenging, helping you feel genuinely heard and understood while also encouraging you to explore familiar patterns, gain greater insight and, when the time feels right, step beyond them towards greater resilience and a more fulfilling way of being.
For those seeking deeper self-exploration, I specialise in longer-term transpersonal psychotherapy, providing the time and space to take a deeper dive into your inner world. Together, we can explore unconscious patterns, beliefs, early life experiences and relationships that may influence how you think, feel and relate to others.
Using creative and experiential approaches such as guided visualisation, dream work, sand tray and imagination, we can sometimes access parts of your experience that are difficult to reach through talking alone.
Longer-term therapy can offer an opportunity to slow down, develop a deeper relationship with yourself, understand recurring patterns and explore questions of identity, meaning and purpose. Over time, this deeper exploration can help you develop greater self-awareness, make more conscious choices and create lasting change in your life.
I also offer shorter-term, goal-orientated therapy focused on a specific issue or challenge you may be facing. This provides a structured space to gain clarity, understand the patterns that may be contributing to your difficulties, and explore new ways of responding. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, a life transition or are facing a particular decision, we can focus our work on the areas that matter most to you.
Short-term therapy can help you develop greater insight, build effective coping strategies and make meaningful changes within a defined period, giving you greater clarity and confidence to move forward.
I recommend an initial course of 12 sessions for short-term work, allowing us the time and space to properly explore your concerns and work towards the changes you would like to make. To support this commitment, I offer a 12-session package at the cost of 10 sessions.
Starting therapy can feel daunting and finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is an important first step. To support this, I offer a free 15-minute call where we can briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
If you decide to continue, we can arrange an initial consultation, where I can learn more about your background and the concerns you would like to explore.
If we agree to work together, we will schedule a regular weekly session held on the same day and time each week. Sessions last 50 minutes. Regular attendance is important, as consistency helps therapy to be most effective.
In person sessions take place in comfortable rooms located in Brighton & Hove, as well as online. I currently have availability for seeing new clients on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
My standard fee is £70 per 50-minute session.
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, 48 hours’ notice is required.
If you would like to arrange an introductory call, please feel free to get in touch.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right person to help.
You can also call me on 07713 132 317 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
